The CAN 2.0 battery port carries factory profiles for Pylontech US/UP series, BYD B-Box LV, Dyness Powerbox, and the SolarBoltPro 48-100 module. Any other 48 V LiFePO4 pack with open Modbus or CAN can be added in the field by uploading a JSON profile through the installer app — typically a 30-minute service we provide free for the first PO.How fast does the SBP-HY-5K switch to battery when the grid fails?
Switchover from grid-tied to UPS mode is 10 milliseconds typical, 20 ms maximum, measured per IEC 62040-3 Class 1. Most desktop computers, LED lighting, refrigerators, routers and submersible pumps continue running without a reboot. Sensitive medical equipment should still be sized with its own UPS in series.Can the SBP-HY-5K work as a pure off-grid inverter without any utility connection?
Yes. Configure the grid input as 'disabled' in the installer app and the unit runs from PV + battery with diesel-generator AC as optional backup. In off-grid mode, AC output stays 230 V ±5 %, frequency 50 Hz ±0.2 Hz, and the maximum continuous load is the rated 5 kW (peak 10 kW for 10 seconds for motor starts).
